I left home with the dream of living the rest of my life in Europe. I wanted to aid the rest of my brothers after I found a job there. During my infancy, my mother died and our father abandoned us. I felt like the only other option was to leave everything from Ghana and risk it in Europe. Long story short, we did not make it to Europe. I was rescued from the detention center and returned to Ghana with assistance from CTM, including a small grant that helped me start a business transporting yams to the market. Ultimately, if it were not for CTM, I probably would not be pursuing a path in business today.
Hello, my name is Doaa! I am a 19-year-old Syrian refugee living in Greece. I was forced out of my home due to a vicious war.During my time in Syria I would work without a permit, but struggled with long days and low wages. Everyday I feared of getting caught. To my suprise that was the least of my worries. One day a motorcycle gang tried to kidnap me on the street, that was when I knew I had to leave.
Hello all, my name is Um Nawwaf. From where I come from, life is constantly a struggle. I used to live in fear and I do not want that to continue affecting the future youth. My daughter, attempted to hide away when she was severly injured by a rock. Since then, she has suffered from epilepsy. Hence, I fled to Jordan in search of a better life. Of course, I had my regrets and doubts, but luckily, I found the assistance of CTM.
